SOK and Tietoevry Tech Services, soon to become Vivicta, have agreed to extend their long-term partnership supporting SOK’s digital transformation journey. The renewed partnership will focus on providing SOK with the benefits of the public cloud; a solid foundation for the company’s future data and AI-related needs combined with operational efficiency.
“This modernization of our core platform is an enabler for us. We chose Vivicta as our partner because of their expertise in running SAP on Azure and cloud services, and because of their proven track record in Azure migration projects. Microsoft Azure will give us increased flexibility, cost-efficiency and a modern foundation for business-critical operations," says Teemu Salminen, SOK’s Platform Capability Lead.

“We are honoured to work with SOK as their key SAP, cloud services and platform development partner. This agreement expands our role, making us a strategic enabler that supports SOK’s cloud transformation with in-depth expertise and proven delivery models," says Aki Salonen, Vivicta’s Director, Strategic Engagements.
"This agreement with SOK is a great example of how we leverage the strength of our partner ecosystem for the benefit of our customers. By combining our understanding of customers' businesses with our tech expertise and scalable, secure, data-driven capabilities, we can deliver real business impact and lead the way in cloud transformation”, says Noora Fosse, Vivicta's Head of Retail & Logistics.
Transferring SOK’s SAP platform from traditional data centres to Microsoft Azure will enable greater scalability and improved performance. It will also enhance S/4HANA and advanced analytics, setting the foundation for new artificial intelligence capabilities. This project is closely linked to SOK’s ongoing Business Transformation program, a strategic initiative impacting core retail processes. Modernizing the SAP platform will improve the reliability and scalability of SOK's services, enabling SOK to benefit from the cost efficiency and flexibility of the public cloud. Together with SOK, Vivicta will further develop the capabilities of the SOK cloud platform to achieve the benefits of configuration management as code, cloud-native capabilities, and operational automation. Vivicta is the market leader for SAP platform services in the Nordic countries.
